In short
We use only what the shop needs to work, and two optional extras that stay off until you turn them on. There are no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels and no third-party analytics. You can change your choice at any time through "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
What cookies and similar storage are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Local storage and session storage work in a similar way. The law (in the EU, Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive; in Germany, § 25 TDDDG) allows storage that is strictly necessary for a service you asked for, and requires your consent for everything else.
Always on: necessary storage
| Name | Type | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
gbf_locale | Cookie | Remembers the language you chose | 1 year |
gbf_draft | Cookie (HTTP-only) | Connects your browser to your unfinished order, so your photos stay with you | Until the order is sent or 24 hours after your last change; the cookie itself expires after 15 days |
gbf_consent | Cookie | Remembers your cookie choice | 1 year, or until this policy changes |
gbf_order:…, gbf_order_current | Local storage | Keeps the order of your photos and their print settings on your device | Until the order is sent or expires |
ms-static-…, ms-pages-… | Browser cache (service worker) | Keeps the website's own files and the public pages you opened, so they load instantly and still open without internet. Nothing personal: these pages are the same for everyone | Until replaced by a newer version; at most 40 pages |
gbf_staff.* | Cookies (HTTP-only) | Sign-in for studio staff only; customers never get these | 8 hours |
Optional, only with your consent
| Category | What it does | Storage | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Statistics | Counts, without identifying you, how far orders get (for example how many uploads fail), so we can fix problems | gbf_stats_session in session storage: a random number that disappears when you close the tab | Session |
| Error reports | If the page breaks in your browser, a report without personal data goes to our error monitor Sentry, stored in the EU | Sentry may keep a random session number in your browser | Session |
Your choices
- The first time you visit, you can accept all, reject all or choose individually. All three are equally easy, and nothing is switched on in advance.
- You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing is as easy as consenting.
- If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as "reject all" and don't ask.
- You can also delete cookies in your browser settings. If you delete
gbf_draft, an unfinished order can no longer be found.
We keep a record of each choice with a random ID, the choice and the date, but no IP address, so we can show that consent was given.
In our apps
When our apps for Android and iPhone are available, they store your language, your unfinished order and your choice on the device in the same way, and ask before turning on statistics or error reports.
